I rented a car with driver to visit the Thursday market at Onkadelli. This is one of the two impressive markets in the South West part of Orissa. The market is primarily known for the Bonda tribal village people who come to this market. It is also marked with alcohol which is sold from metal containers and bows and arrows. I saw the containers of alcohol, but did not stay long enough to see the results of the consumption. I also saw men bringing bows and arrows into the village, but did not see what they did with them. It was worth the worth the three hour trip (90 kilometers) over bumpy roads. The bonus is a beautiful country side. After returning to Koraput I took the train to Bhubaneswar and then a bus to Puri for three days of relaxation in this popular seaside/temple town.

I wish to visit Onkadelli Market in August 2011. Can you tell me if photography is allowed inside the market?
