Planning a Trip to Asia
Articles on Asia will predominate this issue as Asia is a wonderful destination for single women travelers.
South East Asia is the continent for first time single women travelers. It is safe, inexpensive and so easy. The experiences are exotic, the food is fabulous, the people are kind and the infrastructure for transportation, accommodation, banking and health care is highly developed. Thailand is the country I recommend for first time travellers. Thailand is a base to explore many neighboring South East Asia countries. As well, Bangkok is is a tranportation hub for flights to most world destinations including Europe, Australia, Africa and the Middle East. Thailand has so much to offer. Visit once, use it as a base or come back to Thailand again and again and be guaranteed of a fabulous experience. To read more
Planning is the Key to Confidence
The number one way to overcome anxiety before traveling is researching and planning. When planning an initial trip my favorite travel site is the Thorntree Travel Forum. I will usually read the postings about the areas I am planning to travel. This will enable me to form some initial impressions about costs, itineraires, safety, money, health prevention, accommodation and transportation options. If I want information which is not posted I will post my questions and generally have been very successful in getting replies to my questions.
In an initial trip to China I met one of the people who responded to my questions on the train and we have been corresponding since 1995. Many other forums exist. I find Thorntree the most robust.
I have a section in the website about gathering data to prepare for you trip. This section briefly describes each website and provides a link to the site. One suggestion is when posting on a public website is to use a psuedo email such as Hotmail or Yahoo in order to minimized the SPAM directed to your personal email address. |
