Turkey to Egypt-- September to December 2005 Itinerary
I landed in Istanbul on September 7 and returned back to Canada from Cairo on December 22.
Here is the itinerary for the trip. The details for Lebanon and for Israel are not on this map. Some of the details for smaller Syria destinations are noted in the table below.The details for Egypt are on another map. In Istanbul I stayed in the Cordial Hostel which I enjoyed very much. I arranged for pick up from the airport as my flight came in at midnight and it was too late to take public transportation.
Much of my itinary back tracks from Jordan to Israel and back to Syria. This was to skirt the Ramadam and the Jewish holidays. The distances are small so backtracking is easy.
